Pittosporum tobira 'Nanum' is a dwarf growing cultivar of the Japanese Mock Orange, even slower growing and wityh an beautifully compact growth habit. It has attractive, leathery, high-lacquer finish dark-green leaves held in whorls. Through summer it produces small heads of creamy-white highly scented flowrs giving rise to the common name Japanese Mock Orange. Exceptional drought, wind and pruning tolerance make it a perfect candidate for low hedges, especially in exposed milder coastal locations. Its compact size allows easy pot culture which is especially useful in colder inland gardens where it can be moved under cover during hard frosts.
