(3 customer reviews)

£14.95

Acclaimed for its attractive heart shaped leaves, hence the nickname ‘Heartleaf Philodendron’, Philodendron scandens is both easy to look after and incredibly endearing as either a climber or trailing plant.

With a little interior design experimentation, these plants are brilliant to add a little flair to your home. Trail them from a tall shelf, let the foliage wrap around a beam or banister, grow it up a moss pole, droop it from a basket held up by macram̩, or even pin the foliage so it grows spread out up a wall Рthe possibilities are endless.

Plant Biography

Hailing from Central America and the Caribbean, in the wild this plant is found growing up the trunks of other trees. Given that many of its older leaves remain close to the shaded forest floor, it’s tolerant of low light.

It’s easy to propagate with cuttings, allowing you to turn one plant into a living wall with relative ease, or share the love by giving them to your friends!

Though it is tricky to achieve indoors, given the right conditions Philodendron scandens can produce white flowers once it has matured enough.

Care & Size Guidance

Care & Size Guidance

In the wild these climbers can grow to about 6 metres long. In the home, if they grow too large for their space they’re very easy to trim and propagate with the cuttings!

If the leaves of your Philodendron begin to droop, it can suggest either overwatering or underwatering, whilst yellowing leaves suggest the plant is getting too much bright, direct sunlight that is scorching its leaves.
