Hyophorbe verschaffeltiiSpindle Palm
The Spindle Palm is closely related to the Bottle Palm, Hyophorbe lagenicaulis but, as the name suggests, has a trunk swollen to a spindle - rather than bottle - shape. It is larger growing and holds its crown of pinnate leaves in a flatter, less recurved fashion.
Like its cousin, Hyophorbe verschaffetii is all but extinct in the wild, although widely cultivated throughout Mauritius and the Mascarene islands.
Here in the UK it is best grown in a warm conservatory, greenhouse or room indoors in a bright position where its slow growth and elegant habit of growth make it a stunning specimen palm that can be enjoyed for years.

Due to the nature of the consignments, the courier's drivers are not insured to carry goods through your property. The standard delivery location is the border of your property or the entrance of a communal space. If other arrangements need to be made, please get in touch with us as soon as the order is placed.
Vouchers and small boxes can be posted through the letterbox, provided there is unrestricted access to it.
Palm trees are one of the most popular choices for indoor plants to grow. They provide the majestic beauty of a tropical garden and the ease of care. The less mature palms can be used as a desk plant for a small office and even in bathrooms of some homes.
An inevitable problem encountered by growing palms indoors is the amount of dust that builds up on the leaves over time.
The soil in the pots should be kept moist and never be allowed to dry out. During the summer months you will be watering as much as twice per week to maintain moisture levels, whereas in winter you should water sparingly.

I've been looking for a long time to source one Hyophorbe. Got lucky with The Palm Centre. Great specimen was delivered a few days later. Great communication with Customer Services and excellent service from courier. We'll definitely be back for more.
I have just received this and it is my favourite palm for indoors. I have only seen them at The Palm Centre and the quality of the plant is superb. It is so elegant and compact for the home.
