Phormium 'Black Adder' is one of the newer introductions into the colourful world of Phormium cultivars. This occurred as a mutation from Phormium 'Platt's Black' - a similarly sinister colour but of a low and arching habit. This is larger in all its parts, equally lustrous black-purple and much more erect in habit. Stunning when combined with pinks, hot colours, pastels - anything, in fact. Team up with other purples for a real Flower Show co-ordinated display. Arguably at its best when given space in the gravel garden.
