The Mediterranean Fan Palm is an extremely variable plant in colour, habit and size with several different forms being recognised.
It ranges from a dwarf, ground-hugging multi-stemmed suckering shrub to a tall single trunked plant with small stiff leaves or drooping tipped large leaves, themselves of varying colour.
Whichever type you choose they are tough and undemanding plants taking, when established, any degree of drought or wind.
When cut back by severe cold they will almost invariably come back from underground and are perfect companion plants for the hardier succulents like yucca, dasylirion and nolina.
Brilliant in conservatory too.

We can guarantee that the plants leave our nursery disease free, but weather and local conditions might affect their survival. Make sure you always make an informed purchasing decision.
The plants that leave our nursery are in the best condition, free of disease. Kept in adequate conditions (positioning and care), the plants are guaranteed for 3 months if they are planted in the ground or one year if they are kept in their original pots. Return policy applies only to plants that are in their original pots.
Most palms need tropical or subtropical temperatures, but there are some suitable for planting outdoors in the British Isles. Hardy palms are invaluable as structural plants in tropical-style gardens and look effective when planted with bananas, bamboos and New Zealand flax.
Hardy palm trees can be planted at any time of the year, but ideally it should be done during spring and summer.
Try to dig a hole a good deal bigger than the root-ball, which should be given a good soak before planting. Back-fill the hole with a free draining mix
Water thoroughly. This will be beneficial to the establishment of the root system. If planting during a dry spell, water the hole first, allow to drain, plant, back-fill, and then water again.

Absolutely thrilled with my new babies. Healthy and well looked after when they arrived and very well packaged with care.
I will be back no doubt for more to tend my Palm/Tropical plants obsession :) Thank you
Palm arrived well packaged and in excellent health. The palm was exactly as described (dimension wise) with lots of foliage on it. Delivery was incredibly swift and easy to track.. overall very very impressed by this company. Would highly recommend and will certainly use again..
I have just received my order of 14 palms today all very healthy. I asked could i have them held for me until the always looked forward to payday and they did no problem. The second time i have ordered and it won't be the last, great company and great prices. I even got a call off a man called Tudor and he was great and a very pleasant man and was a pleasure to deal with. :)
Just received my Chamaerops humillis along with several others - what a magnificent palm, it is about 5 foot tall, super robust and healthy. My plants arrived well packaged with a very friendly courier who was interested in the delivery, I jokingly said I hoped he had been talking to the plants in transit and he replied yes, he had even sung to them lol. Every plant is in tip top condition, I will have no hesitation in placing further orders and recommending The Palm Centre to others. Thank you so much.
I ordered two Chamaerops humillis and was so surprised how fast the delivery was (24 hour's). The plant's were extremely healthy and a good size, also they were packaged in such a way that they would not be damaged in transit. I was so happy with not just the plant's, but the delivery and packaging that I ordered three more and will definitely be ordering more plant's from here. Well done Palm Centre for your excellent customer service and customer experience. I will definitely recommend you to other's.
We visited the Palm Centre for the first time today though we've bought quite a lot from them via the Internet over recent years. We were greeted by an incredibly helpful young lady and as we knew what we wanted, we selected a really beautiful Chamerops Hubilis within about 15 minutes. We feel like expectant parents and can't wait to get the spikey devil into its new home. Thank you SO much all at the Palm Centre, your second to none and everything we've had from you has been healthy and really thrived.
Two very helpful lady members of staff helped me make my purchase at the Palm Centre of a 45 litre Chamaerops which was wrapped and loaded into my car by an equally helpful gent. 5 hours later the palm was in the ground at home looking stunning with its meter-plus of trunk. A really beauty and at a good price. Very happy.

Ordered a single trunk chamerops humilis and stated on the order that i want to single trunked like the one in the picture,a few days later my parcel came and was dissapointed as a multitrunked chamaerops with a giant crack right through middle of pot.1 star for bad service online, will next time order on phone or go to shop.

Palm Centre replies: Dear Nathan, the palm tree that was chosen for you was exactly like the picture. As my colleagues explained to you over the phone, the suckers that grow next to the main trunk are not other trunks, and they will shoot out regularly from the ground. Chamaerops humilis is a well known species for its "bushiness", which require regular pruning.
We do apologize for the pot being cracked on arrival, it's unfortunate what happened. We have forwarded the complaint to the courier.
However, the pots we u
se to deliver the plants are nursery pots used only to hold the root ball in place until the plant reaches its final place (a new pot or ground), they are not ment to keep the plant for long, as it might stress it out pretty quick.

Fantastic plants ! I ordered two of the 55 litre size and they are both great quality. Far superior to any I have seen in my local nurseries or garden centres. They look the business in their new huge black pots. Two of my friends have been to see them and are both going to order from you. I too will definitely be ordering again. My next purchase will be this week in fact. Maybe a large sago palm. Can't wait to see it.
I have several of these that I bought 20 years ago from the Palm Centre. They look wonderful. Mine are in free-draining, rather poor quality soil. They have grown very well and are surprisingly big now. They have survived the harshest winters without batting an eyelid. The leaves always look great, no amount of wind or cold seems to trouble them. You might need to trim off runners occasionally if you want to have a few big trunks rather than lots of small ones. Apart from that, they just
This is my second purchase from The Palm Centre and I am very satisfied. This is a lovely palm that looks great in the garden. I like its shorter height/shrub appearance, which compliments my other taller palm tree. I purchased the 3 litre pot which is a nice size plant and Im looking forward to watching it grow. It arrived in excellent condition.
