Ficus elastica 'Abidjan'
Rubber Plant, Indian Rubber Tree

An easy, dramatic plant native across North East India to South East Asia. The large dark lacquered leaves bear reddish midribs and spectacular lipstick red growth buds, making a stylish focal point in any room.
The deep purplish tinge to the leathery green leaves is enhanced when placed in a brighter position, though avoid direct hot sunlight. Allow surface of the soil to dry a few cm between waterings in Spring-Summer, and a few more cm more in Winter. Keep clear of cool drafts.
This plant can eventually grow to 3m in ideal conditions, though easily pruned to keep more compact - don't be alarmed by the milky latex sap from cut branches, which was historically made into a rubber.

How often should I feed my house plants?
With some house plants, you can feed them according to the label on the feed. It may look like it's not enough and you could be tempted to add more than the recommended dose, but do remember that the correct dosages will prevent the roots from getting burned from too much concentration.
As a rule of thumb, once a month, a mild solution of a balanced organic fertiliser is ideal to be applied in the growing season.
How often should I water my house plants?
Watering houseplants is always a tricky business. Some love to have their soil moist at all times, others like to be on the drier side. Also, every home is different and winters are not the same as summers.
Conditions differ throughout the year, all over the country and plants have different preferences.
Make sure you read the care instructions that come with the plant and adjust that according to your home.
We can guarantee that the plants leave our nursery disease free, but weather and local conditions might affect their survival. Make sure you always make an informed purchasing decision.
The plants that leave our nursery are in the best condition, free of disease. Kept in adequate conditions (positioning and care), the plants are guaranteed for 3 months if they are planted in the ground or one year if they are kept in their original pots. Return policy applies only to plants that are in their original pots.
Due to the nature of the consignments, the courier's drivers are not insured to carry goods through your property. The standard delivery location is the border of your property or the entrance of a communal space. If other arrangements need to be made, please get in touch with us as soon as the order is placed. Palm trees are one of the most popular choices for indoor plants to grow. They provide the majestic beauty of a tropical garden and the ease of care. The less mature palms can be used as a desk plant for a small office and even in bathrooms of some homes.
An inevitable problem encountered by growing palms indoors is the amount of dust that builds up on the leaves over time.
The soil in the pots should be kept moist and never be allowed to dry out. During the summer months you will be watering as much as twice per week to maintain moisture levels, whereas in winter you should water sparingly.
