Plant Biography

This cultivar was developed from Euonymous japonica, a species whose native range spans Japan, Korea and China. There are fifty Euonymous species that are considered endemic to China, meaning they grow wild nowhere else.

 

The species has inconspicuous flowers which are insect pollinated. The flowers contain both male and female organs, which botanists describe as hermaphroditic flowers, bisexual flowers, or perfect flowers.
