Ctenanthe lubbersiana 'Golden mosaic'
Never Never plant
Ctenanthe, native to tropical Brazil, is a member of the Marantaceae family and is related to the calathea and prayer plant. These evergreen perennials are grown primarily for the beauty of their colorful leaves.
Green and yellow patterned elliptical leaves with pale green undersides, make the Ctenanthe lubbersiana a wonderful addition to your living room. A Ctenanthe is not an easy care plant and can be quite frustrating for a novice plant grower.
Ctenanthes like bright indirect light. If there is insufficient light, new leaves appear solid green rather than patterned with attractive colors. If there is too much light, the colors in the leaves fade.
Keep the soil evenly moist but never soggy. Ctenanthes do not like to dry out, and do not like cold or hard water. Use filtered or rain water that is at least at room temperature if not a bit tepid.
Fertilize monthly in the spring and summer diluting the plant food at 1/2 the recommended strength. Fertilize every other month in the fall and winter.
Never feed a Ctenanthe immediately after repotting, wait at least 6 weeks.
High humidity is very important. If the air is dry, place your Ctenanthe on a pebble tray filled with water. Be sure the plant is sitting on the pebbles and not in the water.

The ordering process was fine, received good updates. Took a few days to dispatch but delivery was made in a day. The only thing that could be improved was the delivery slot was too wide (all day), other couriers give you a more definite time slot.
The plants themselves were the sort you find in the bargain basement of the garden centre. The whole plant made up of 6 leaves and 3 of them permanently bent. I could see other storks had died off and the pot was way too big for this barely alive plant. If more care was taken to wrap the plant in paper, it would have arrived in better condition. So poor quality plant and poor packaging equals a big disappointment.
