Care & Size Guidance

Care & Size Guidance

Carex oshimensis is easily grown in medium to wet soil in part shade. That said, it can also thrive in most average garden soils and is more tolerant of dry spells than most sedges.

The plant spreads slowly via short rhizomes, though if you want to use it for immediate ground cover we recommend starting with enough plants to fill the desired space.

It is evergreen throughout most of its growing range, though in the areas where it is not evergreen its foliage needs to be cut to the ground and removed in late winter.
