Plant Biography
Alocasia x amazonica ‘Polly’ was created in the late 1950s in Florida. The parents, unfortunately, remain unknown. It quickly grew in popularity due to its striking foliage and ease of care.

Male and female flowers bloom on a white spadix which is partially encircled by a green spathe. Flowers rarely appear on container plants, although it is possible.
Expert Tip
Care & Size Guidance
Derived from a genus that enjoy wet riverbanks across South East Asia and beyond, ‘Polly’ thrives in a warm bright room with excellent humidity levels.
In the growing season, feed and water regularly when soil surface begins to dry – allowing soil to dry out more in the Winter. The leaf tips will drip water if they have been saturated, so if you see this regularly it may indicate over watering.
This variety stays smaller than many Alocasias, making it very adaptable to smaller spaces – reaching a maximum of only 60cm at maturity.
