What a charming common name! The leaves are indeed, tongue-like and entire, with ruffled edges, a bright mossy green in colour. This is a native of Europe (including the UK) and looks great in a shady border, perhaps mixed with other ferns where it will provide contrast in both leaf shape and colour. Grows to a couple of feet tall, prefers alkaline soil though will grow in others, and is happiest in shady conditions, to keep the leaves fresh-looking.
