Agaves are popular in Mediterranean style gardens for their thick blue fleshy leaves and exotic appearance. They require very well drained soil and a sunny position and given that, they grow slowly over a period of years to a good size. As desert plants they are also perfect for the hot, dry, bright conservatory. Very hardy in the winter if kept dry. MG
