E. ferox
The leaves on this species resemble nothing so much as holly, with a more or less rectangular shape, and spiny. They are dark green and glossy and add to this plant’s attractive appearance. Not specially hardy, it does well in conservatory in bright light, but may certainly be stood outside during the summer months. Bright orange cones are produced on mature plants. MG
