An attractive form of the well known and popular Agave americana, but with yellow margins to the blue-green, fleshy leaves. As with others in the genus, it grows best in a sunny spot in well drained soil; a sunny bank would be ideal. Once established they will probably never need watering in our climate. Extremely hardy to cold if kept bone dry during the winter. Makes a good pot plant too, for conservatory or a bright location in the home. The leaves have spiny tips which may be a deterrent to their use. MG
